Sungura music kingpin Alick Macheso has endorsed fellow musician Sugar Sugar’s hit song “Mudododo”, describing its dominance on the airwaves as well deserved.
Speaking to fans during his performance at Steak House in Harare on Friday, Macheso acknowledged the song’s growing popularity, saying Sugar Sugar had earned his place at the top of the charts.
“Akazarurira paya paya, Tsvigiri Tsvigiri, akazarurira, level,” said Macheso.
“Mudododo” has taken social media by storm, with several socialites jumping on the trend and releasing their own versions of the song.
Its widespread appeal has seen some fans tip the track as a strong contender for Song of the Year.
The song’s success has also attracted a major reward, with businessman Wicknell Chivayo gifting Sugar Sugar a new Toyota Fortuner GD6 and US$20 000 in appreciation of the hit.
“Mudododo” is part of Sugar Sugar’s recently released album.
